Do you think that is important to be known by Satan? Do you think that we need to aim to the moment when Satan knows our name? When you are just pretending to be some sort of a man of God you are an unknown person to Satan. In the days of Paul there were some wannabes, who started to cast out daemons, but one day one evil spirit wanted to meet them (Acts 19:15) ,, One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?” ”. When you are a man of God Satan knows your name and he fears you, he does not want you to stand against his evil will. I know a man of God, a real warrior of the Kingdom of God, his name is Jerry Haas. I know this man for about 10+ years and got to know him better personally in the last 4 years when I started to be part of the translators team in my home church where he was a missionary. I translated for him just once in front of a crowd, and writing this I remember that I once promise him I will remember Psalm 119 in just 3 weeks thing that I forgot to do. I don’t know lots about his mission trips all around the world or his job as a Executive Director at WorldReach Ministries or as Associate Pastor at Prince Avenue Baptist Church but I know his passion for serving God. Jerry is now in hospital, just had a brain surgery, the surgery was successful but the verdict of the doctors wasn`t great, this is what his older son Alan Keith Haas wrote: ,,As I’m sure most of you have heard, my father went in today to have a brain tumour removed. Surgery was successful but we have received bad news. The tumour was cancer of an incurable and reoccurring kind. Incurable by human doctors that is![...]’’ When God told Satan about Job and how he is, after Satan`s first trial he said to God (Job 2:4) “Skin for skin!” Satan replied. “A man will give all he has for his own life. 5 But now stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face.” When others face trials it is easy to stand still but when your own life is in danger Satan knows that you are vulnerable. Jerry Hass is facing a great trial, and this is a very good opportunity for Satan to try to work out his way in a way or another. What I want to ask you by writing this article is to pray for Jerry and his family to stand strong in faith, hope and the hardest thing ever to have in a trial, peace and joy.
